About Mitter

Mitter is a service to keep your online video viewing logs with comments, ratings, tags and so on. (We call this activitiy "Mitter"). You can share your Mitter Videos with Mitter users.

Mitter also provides the functionality to connect your friends, family, colleagues and anyone in Mitter. If you find someone whose Mitter Videos are close to your taste, let's follow them. You can receive their Mitter updates and this will help you to find tasty videos.

Creating a Mitter Account

To start your Mitter life, you need to first sign up. A basic account is free. Only a username and e-mail address are required for signing up. (If you forget your password your e-mail address will be necessary, so please be sure to type your address in correctly.)

If you already have OpenID (What is OpenID? ), you can skip the signup process.

Please login with OpenID and start from the profile setting.

Keep Your Video Viewing Log with Mitter Toolbar

Mitter Toolbar is a tool helps you to Mitter (keep logs) very easily. By using Mitter Toolbar, your Mitter Videos will be automatically posted to your Mitter Home.

By Installing Mitter Toolbar, the Mitter icon is displayed near the video you are watching. A popup window will be shown up by pressing the Mitter icon , where you can then make comments, rate, put tags, etc on the video you are wathing. (You can do the same on your Mitter Homes as well.)

Keep Your Video Viewing Log with Mitter Bookmarklet

Mitter Bookmarklet is a tool helps you to Mitter (keep logs).

A popup window will show up when you press Mitter Bookmarklet, where you can make comments, rate, put tags, etc. on the video you are watching. Your Mitter Videos will be posted to your Mitter Home at the same time.

Mitter is a service not only to keep your veiwing logs, but to keep your comments, ratings, tags, etc on your viewing logs.

You can do this by on the popup window displayed when watching video. A popup window will show up by using tools. (Mitter Toolbar / Mitter Bookmarklet)

You can add comment, ratings and tags to any of your Mitter Videos by clicking "Edit".

You can also delete a video from your Mitter Videos by clicking "Delete".

Private Mode

Your Mitter Videos are displaying on your Mitter page (http://mitter.jp/username)

The private mode helps you maintain your privacy. You can hide any of individual Mitter Videos from your Mitter page by simply clicking the "Private" checkbox on the popup window or edit page of your Mitter Home.

Note: The automatic posting function of Mitter Toolbar is set to private mode by default. Unless you use the popup window, your Mitter Videos posted by Mitter Toolbar will be kept private. You can chage this setting to "Share All" mode from the Share All page.

Follow Mitter Users

Mitter helps you to connect to your friends, family, colleagues and anyone in Mitter. If you find someone whose Mitter Videos are close to your taste, follow them! You can receive their Mitter updates, which will help you to discover new and enticing videos.

You can follow anyone by clicking "Start Following" on their Mitter page.

Followings List

You can check the users you follow from this page. You can also check people who are following you from this page.

If you want to stop following someone, you can delete them from this page by cliking "Delete".

Invite Your Friends

You can invite your friends, family, colleagues to Mitter via e-mail from this page. Please type your friend's e-mail address, a massage and click "Send".

You can check your invitation with the preview function.

You can change your username and e-mail address from the Account Settings page.

Share All Your Mitter Videos

You can share all your Mitter Videos by using the "share all" mode of Mitter Toolbar.

Mitter Toolbar will automatically post all of your Mitter Videos to your Mitter Home in private mode, but you can change this setting to "share all" mode from the Share All page.

By using "share all" mode, all of your Mitter Videos will be automatically displayed on your Mitter page.

Using "Search Assist" New!

With the latest "Mitter Toolbar" installed on your FireFox, you can get popular video info based on the query you have posted to Google.

Mitter Toolbar automatically checks if there are any appropriate videos for your query and enlists them on Google search result page, only when matched videos are found. You can turn on/off this function from the Toolbar Settings Menu.
